Parks Come Alive! Event at Fox Hill Park to Feature Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Playground Equipment

New park equipment at South Platt (Fox Hill) Park

The Parks Come Alive Event series will host its final event of the season on Thursday, September 12th, from 4:30-7:30 PM at Fox Hill Park, with family friendly activities, local food, live music, and more. As a special feature of this event, the City of Plattsburgh will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:00 PM to celebrate the completion of new playground equipment and construction upgrades at the park. Media are encouraged to attend.

City of Plattsburgh Announces Plans to Enhance Regional Connectivity Through Interim Transportation Center

The City of Plattsburgh is planning to open an interim “Downtown Transportation Center” that will serve as a hub for regional bus services such as FlixBus (Greyhound) and Trailways. This initiative aims to retain and improve access to affordable and sustainable transportation options for residents, visitors, and travelers.

Update re: Shooting Investigation on 09/03/2024

On September 3, 2024, at approximately 2:23 A.M., the Plattsburgh City Police Department received a report of an alleged shooting in the vicinity of Cornelia Street, City of Plattsburgh. A preliminary investigation determined a victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, where the victim was pronounced deceased

The Plattsburgh City Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Cornelia St. between Champlain and Montcalm Streets. Please avoid the area as it will be closed to vehicle traffic until further notice
