(PLATTSBURGH, NY – MAY 7 2024) – On Friday, May 24, the City will officially open Plattsburgh City Beach to the public.
City employees have been working diligently over an eventful spring to allow residents and visitors to enjoy the summer weather. Lifeguards will be on duty during open beach hours: 10AM-6PM, 7 days a week.
Going to the beach itself remains free. The City charges a flat fee of $13 or a seasonal permit of $60 for the convenience of parking in the immediately adjacent parking lot. City of Plattsburgh residents can obtain a seasonal parking pass for free with proof of residency via the online parking portal. This year, Town of Plattsburgh residents are being offered a discounted beach seasonal pass for $30 that can be purchased via the online parking portal system with proof of residency.
The Northern overflow parking lot continues to remain free, and everyone is welcome to drop off their passengers and gear before utilizing this parking area. The beach is also accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.
