  2. Holiday Organ Spectacular

    The Strand Center for the Arts is excited to announce a musical evening of festive fun for the whole family, at the Strand Center Theatre on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Peter Krasinski, a world-renowned organist, will be performing a “holiday concert spectacular” with accompaniment on the mighty Plattsburgh Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. The Strand Center for the Arts invites you to come in from the cold to enjoy this festive sing-along! Peter Edwin Krasinski is well respected in both the secular and sacred genres of his field, and taught the enchantment of music to both public and private institutions in the greater Boston area for many years. This show will be at the Strand Center Theatre at 25 Brinkerhoff Street in Plattsburgh on December 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15-$30. The Strand Center for the Arts’ member discount applies. The prices for all tickets increase $5 on the day of the show. All ticket sales, including service fees, are final and non-refundable.

    The Strand Center for the Arts is excited to announce a Holiday Concert featuring “America’s Got Talent” season 9 finalists, Sons of Serendip, at the Strand Center Theatre on Thursday December 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Called “the most musically talented act on the show” by Howie Mandel and Howard Stern, this unique and dynamic quartet consists of a harpist, cellist, pianist and a vocalist. This one-night-only show will be at the Strand Center Theatre at 25 Brinkerhoff Street in Plattsburgh on December 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $25-$40. It's A Wonderful Life is a 1946 American Christmas fantasy drama film produced and directed by Frank Capra, based on the short story "The Greatest Gift", which Philip Van Doren Stern wrote in 1939 and published privately in 1945. The film is now considered one of the most popular films in American cinema and due to numerous television showings in the 1980s has become traditional viewing during the Christmas season. The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams in order to help others and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be had he never been born.
