“City Police make arrest for possession of heroin”

On December 7th, 2017, the Plattsburgh City Police arrested Michael D. Malseptic (23) of Plattsburgh, New York. The arrest stems from an extensive investigation into Malseptic selling drugs in the City of Plattsburgh based on citizen complaints. A search warrant was executed by the Plattsburgh Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Adirondack Drug Task Force on Malseptic’s residence in the City of Plattsburgh.
During the execution of the search warrant, Malseptic was found to be in possession of 175 individually packaged bags of heroin. Police estimate the street value of the heroin to be approximately $7,000. Malseptic was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class “B” Felony. Malseptic was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and committed to the Clinton County Jail on $10,000 cash / $50,000 bond. Prior to this arrest, Malseptic was currently out on bail stemming from an arrest earlier in 2017 for one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class “B” Felony (possession of Fentanyl).
Further criminal charges are likely. During the execution of the search warrant at Malseptic’s residence, police located an indoor marihuana grow operation of approximately 30 plants of varying sizes. Police estimate the value of the marihuana plants to have an approximate street value of $10,000.
The execution of the search warrant was performed by the Plattsburgh City Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Adirondack Drug Task Force which is comprised of members of the Plattsburgh City Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Clinton County District Attorney’s Office and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.
